1 Times of attendance
(a) Sessions
The Lighthouse Day Nursery is open Monday - Friday between 8am and 5.45pm.
- Full Day Care: 8am - 5.45pm includes mid-morning snack and drink, hot lunch, mid-afternoon snack and drink and Tea (breakfast by prior arrangement)
- Morning session: 8am - 1pm includes mid-morning snack and drink and hot lunch
- Short morning session: 8am - 12noon includes mid-morning snack and drink
- Afternoon session: 1pm - 5.30pm includes mid-afternoon snack and drink and Tea
- Long afternoon session: 12noon - 5.30pm includes hot lunch, mid-afternoon snack and drink, and Tea.
(b) Times of arrival and departure
Children may be collected before the end of a session although no credit will be given. The Nursery Manager must be informed of when, and by whom each child will be collected. We also offer an early arrival time of 7.45 by prior arrangement. Fee available on request.
Late collectors will be liable to a surcharge as follows:
Up to 5 mins late £1.00
Up to 10 mins late £3.00
Over 10 mins late £5.00
2 Nursery Places
Places will not be held open after the arranged commencement date unless they are paid for in full from that date, irrespective of whether the place is used. That place will continue to be available until the required notice is given.
The Lighthouse Day Nursery recognises the need for flexibility in childcare and will endeavour to accommodate requests for various hours where possible.
3 Fees and methods of payment
- Fees are charged per session and are payable one month in advance. (Weekly payments may be made by special arrangement.)
- Cheques should be made payable to "TKC (Leics) Ltd."
- If a cheque is not honoured, any administration and bank charges incurred will apply.
- Fees are subject to review and may be increased at one months written notice.
- There is 10% discount on fees for a sibling using the nursery.
- The nursery reserves the right to terminate a place where fees are not paid on time.
Nursery fees are available on request.
4 Notice of withdrawal
At least 4 weeks notice must be given in writing to the Nursery Manager when the withdrawal of a child's place is required. Full fees must be paid for the 4 weeks whether the child attends the nursery or not. The initial deposit held by the nursery may be set against any liabilities for such fees.
5 Reservations
In order to register you child at the nursery, you must complete an Enrolment Form, whereupon your child will either be offered a place or added to the waiting list if necessary.
A £50 pro rata, non-refundable deposit must be paid upon offer of a place at the nursery. You will be billed in writing for this and given a 'return by' date.
The deposit can be deducted from the final fees providing all other fees are paid in full.
6 Equipment
(a) Milk feeds
Arrangements for feeding babies should be made with the Nursery Manager. Milk feeds for the babies must be provided by the parents.
(b) Clothing
hildren should be suitably dressed. Sensible indoor footwear must be provided.
Any nappies required by your child must be provided, along with any creams, baby wipes, nappy sacks/polythene bags for the return of non-disposable nappies.
A full set of clothes must be provided with extra clothes and pants when potty training in case of accidents. All clothes must be named in full.
7 Liability
No liability is accepted by the nursery staff for personal property brought into the building.
8 Car parking
There is a limited drop off point near to the nursery, however, any persons using this do so at their own risk.
For safety reasons it is advisable that parents use the car parks near by. Pease use the crossings provided.
9 Illness
Children cannot attend the nursery if they are unwell. Parents must notify the Nursery Manager if their child is not attending. They must contact the nursery manager immediately in the event of their child coming into contact with or contracting any infectious disease - measles, rubella, chicken pox or whooping cough. Under no circumstances must a child be brought to the nursery with an infectious disease. A child who seems unwell may be refused admission at the Nursery Manager's discretion. Only prescribed medication or medication recommended by a health care professional will be administered.
10 Access to information
All of the documents listed below are available for parent inspection at any time:
(a) All written documents pertaining to their own children
(b) OFSTED Inspection Report
(c) Nursery Policy Documents
11 Registration
The Nursery is registered under the "Children Act of 1989" and is subject to OFSTED inspection.
12 Complaint procedures
Any complaint regarding the nursery or its staff should be discussed with the Nursery Manager. If the complaint is with the Nursery Manager then the Childcare Advice and Support Team at The Kings Centre should be informed in writing. A record of all complaints will be maintained. If a complaint is not handled to your satisfaction you may wish to contact the OFSTED Inspection Unit.
13 Webcam facility
The nursery is fitted with a webcam, allowing parents to view their child at play within the nursery. Parents are given a secure password and are asked to sign an agreement to keep that password confidential.
14 OFSTED inspection
A Registered Nursery Inspector will inspect the nursery at the required intervals. Validated by OFSTED, the nursery has to plan and follow a strict curriculum to cover all six areas of learning A summary of the OFSTED Report is available if you require one. The full OFSTED Report is available at the nursery upon request.
15 General
On acceptance of a place, the above Terms and Conditions must be adhered to. Failure to comply with the above or any other reasonable instruction given by the Nursery Manager may result in a parent being asked to withdraw their child from the nursery. No other place will then be offered. In all matters the decision of the Childcare Advice and Support Team is final.
