The King’s Centre is owned by Meadows Community Church. In 1997, after outgrowing their first home at Meadow County Primary School, they purchased the redundant Ladies Pride hosiery factory. With funding principally from their congregation and supported by various community organisations and funding schemes, the building work began on converting it into The King’s Centre.
Since opening its doors in 2001, work has continued on its development and The King’s Centre has now become a vibrant part of Wigston’s community. In addition to providing a selection of rooms for hire, we provide a wide range of activities primarily focusing on childcare, community care, youth, and counselling services.
The Centre now provides a permanent home not only to Meadows Community Church, with their range of activities, but also the Lighthouse Day Nursery, Leicester South Foodbank, CAP Debt Counselling Services and Jakin Pregnancy Care and Counselling. A number of other local groups use the facilities here and their details can be found on our Events page.
